What (WHO) I am Learning

What (WHO) I am Learning

Isaiah  55:1-13

1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. 3 Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. 4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples. 5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not; and a nation that knew not thee shall run unto thee, because of Jehovah thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee. 6 Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near: 7 let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, and giveth seed to the sower and bread to the eater; 11 so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir-tree; and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle-tree: and it shall be to Jehovah for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

By focusing my mind on the Lord, on scripture, and by seeking to hear His voice, I am hearing Him and finding Him in my heart as well. I need, and I believe we all need, to learn how the Lord thinks. If we will think like He thinks the distance between us will shrink and we will be in His Presence.

Hebrews 13:5-6

5 Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee. 6 So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me?

Luke 12:6-8

6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pence? and not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God. 7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not: ye are of more value than many sparrows. 8 And I say unto you, Every one who shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

John 14:23-27

23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me. 25 These things have I spoken unto you, while yet abiding with you. 26 But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

Mat 6:25-34 ISV

25 "That's why I'm telling you to stop worrying about your life—what you will eat or what you will drink—or about your body—what you will wear. Life is more than food, isn't it, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds in the sky. They don't plant or harvest or gather food into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. You are more valuable than they are, aren't you? 27 Can any of you add a single hour to the length of your life by worrying? 28 And why do you worry about clothes? Consider the lilies in the field and how they grow. They don't work or spin yarn, 29 but I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them. 30 Now if that is the way God clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and thrown into an oven tomorrow, won't he clothe you much better—you who have little faith? 31 "So don't ever worry by saying, 'What are we going to eat?' or 'What are we going to drink?' or 'What are we going to wear?' 32 because it is the gentiles who are eager for all those things. Surely your heavenly Father knows that you need all of them! 33 But first be concerned about God's kingdom and his righteousness, and all of these things will be provided for you as well. 34 So never worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Philippians 4:6-7

6 In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

1John 3:2-3

2 Dear friends, we are now God's children, but what we will be like has not been revealed yet. We know that when the Messiah is revealed, we will be like him, because we will see him as he is. 3 And everyone who has this hope based on him keeps himself pure, just as the Messiah is pure.

Philippians 4:8-9

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 The things which ye both learned and received and heard and saw in me, [in Paul the Apostle], these things do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

ONE Have I Desired

ONE Have I Desired

Thank You Father, Thank You Almighty One in Three.
Thank You for making Yourself known to me.
You give us Yourself and each other
And make us Joint Heirs with your Son!
The Lord is my Shepherd
I shall not want.

To be human and alone
Is more than any should ever have to bear.
You made us in your Image and Likeness
With all things you have made us
According to Your will, your purpose and pleasure.
To know you and be known.

We are made to taste, to touch, to smell,
But most of all to see
And hear the sound of Your Holy Voice
Your Dear Son's calling from Above
That we open to Him our heart's door
And host Him ever more.

What pearl could be so precious?
What treasure 'neath the dirt?
Who on earth more lovely?

Without You what have we now
But fading flesh and bones?
But with You all is loving known forever.

You have a Kingdom coming,
And there You'll be enthroned.
From out of Your Highest heaven
It will descend to earth
And to us be opened
Who know You as our own.

Of dust Your hand did form us,
Your breath made live our souls.
With us you tell the greatest tale's been told.
And to us do Your mysteries unfold.
We would rather Jesus than silver or gold.
You O God are all we would behold.

"One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple."

The Cross Wasn't Heavy Enough Yet - God Chastens All His Children but Men Have Overstepped

Zechariah 1:14-15

Then the angel said to me, “Shout this message for all to hear: ‘This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: My love for Jerusalem and Mount Zion is passionate and strong.

But I am very angry with the other nations that are now enjoying peace and security. I was only a little angry with my people, but the nations inflicted harm on them far beyond my intentions. NLT

Then the angel who was speaking with me said, “Proclaim this word: This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘I am very jealous for Jerusalem and Zion,

but I am fiercely angry with the nations that are at ease. For I was a little angry, but they have added to the calamity.’ BSB

“they have overdone the punishment"

Psalm 69:26

For they have persecuted him whom You Yourself have struck down, And they recount the pain of those whom You have wounded.

2 Chronicles 28:9

But a prophet of the LORD named Oded was there, and he went out to meet the army that returned to Samaria. "Look," he said to them, "because of His wrath against Judah, the LORD, the God of your fathers, has delivered them into your hand. But you have slaughtered them in a rage that reaches up to heaven.

They overstepped.

Amos 1:11

This is what the LORD says: "For three transgressions of Edom, even four, I will not revoke My judgment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and stifled all compassion; his anger raged continually, and his fury flamed incessantly.

Isaiah 47:6

I was angry with My people; I profaned My heritage, and I placed them under your [Babylon’s] control. You showed them no mercy; even on the elderly you laid a most heavy yoke.

Job 19:22 Seeing that God persecutes me, Will you vex me also? Have you not yet enough of the trouble of my flesh?

Isaiah 47:1-9

1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. 2 Take the millstones, and grind meal; remove thy veil, strip off the train, uncover the leg, pass through the rivers. 3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and will spare no man. 4 Our Redeemer, Jehovah of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel. 5 Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for thou shalt no more be called The mistress of kingdoms. 6 I was wroth with my people, I profaned mine inheritance, and gave them into thy hand: thou didst show them no mercy; upon the aged hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke. 7 And thou saidst, I shall be mistress for ever; so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end thereof. 8 Now therefore hear this, thou that art given to pleasures, that sittest securely, that sayest in thy heart, I am, and there is none else besides me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children: 9 but these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come upon thee, in the multitude of thy sorceries, and the great abundance of thine enchantments.

Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

It seems to this author that there is a mystery surrounding Israel and God's purposes in our day. At least this is how it seems for most of Christendom. And for their ignorance the gentile churches have participated in the persecution of Israel for nearly 2000 years.
